Currently the Supreme Court is considering the Mississippi new abortion law, which restricts abortions to the first 15 weeks of pregnancy. While this change does not it in itself overturn Roe V Wade as that decision allows for abortions only up to 23 weeks, though individual states have extended that time all the way up to the moment of birth and beyond. However, it is thought that the more conservative justices could use this case to actually overturn Roe. I am no legal scholar, though my personal belief is that the justices in 1973 created a constitutional right out of whole cloth. I also admit that I oppose abortion for the same reason I oppose the death penalty. As a Christian I believe Man has no right to take another’s life, only God can make that decision. However, today I just want to discuss some more practical aspects of abortion today.
COURT TOOK AWAY VOTERS RIGHTS
Abortion has always been a contentious social issue. Over the years there are usually about a 50/50 split on whether it should be legal or not. Late term abortions are overwhelmingly unpopular. This type of issue should have been debated and voted upon by our legislature, perhaps even at the state level. If the people’s votes, there may still be some dissent, but, in general, we respect the democratic process and most would eventually have accepted the outcome and there would be room for fine tuning to the laws. When the Supreme Court acted as a legislature and settled a public policy debate by fiat it left the question open. It is still hotly contested almost 50 years later. This confusion and continuing conflict is a natural reaction to judicial overreach.
ABORTIONS ARE THE EQUIVALENT OF GENOCIDE IN THE BLACK COMMUNITY
According to CDC data, Black women represent 38% of all abortions, when Blacks only represent 12% of the population. The article with the CDC data from 2016 is linked here. This means that 40% of potential Black babies were killed. This is almost 4 times higher than for white women. Talk about disparate impact! If Black people were being killed at half this rate by any other method, the self appointed Black leaders, Al and Jesse, would be leading protests nonstop. However, we should not be surprised by this result. The founder of of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, advocated abortion for Blacks and others she considered undesirable to clean up the gene pool. She referred to Blacks as weeds and was a fan of Hitler’s in the early 30’s due to his ideas on eugenics. Is it any wonder that Planned Parenthood works so hard in the Black community to promote abortions. It seems they are accomplishing their founder’s goals while promoting it as “progressive”. I guess the same people consider the murder rate of young Black men in Chicago to be a progressive accomplishment as well.
We can only pray that these Supreme Court justices return to the constitution and overturns Roe V Wade. There needs to be an honest public debate and a vote by the people if they want abortions under any circumstances. This is not only the way it should be done, but it should have the added benefit of stopping the genocide of the most innocent in society, particularly Black babies.
