Merrick Garland and Other Dissemblers of The Truth

I don’t often praise Mitch McConnell, certainly not if he goes along with the fraud of the “bipartisan” infrastructure bill, but thank God he prevented Merrick Garland from being voted upon as a Supreme Court Justice, where he could have spent the rest of his life chipping away at the Constitution. At least this partisan hack can only do so as long as Biden is the President. His latest transgression? Filing a federal lawsuit against the Georgia Election Integrity law saying that the law discriminates against people of color without citing one example of how this reasonable law, that allows for more open elections than Biden’s home state of Delaware, does so. What are some of the provisions of this law? First off, it requires some form of voter ID for mail in or absentee ballots, a requirement supported by over 70% of the American public, including people of color. I have written before about how racist and insulting it is to say that black people cannot secure ID’s, so I won’t repeat it here. Proving who you are when you are voting is certainly just a common sense way of preventing fraud. Another provision promotes the cleaning up of the voter registration records. Having worked many elections I can tell you that much time is spent by poll workers directing people to their proper voting precinct because, for a variety of reasons, the address on file is wrong. If you ever wonder why voter turnout is so low, one of the big reasons is inaccurate voter registrations. Dead people are seldom taken off of the records and moves are often not reported by the voter or the requested change is not processed by the state. Election integrity laws should discourage the practice of just mailing out ballots that were not requested as many are going to end up in the hands of people other than the person on the registry. Every one of those mis-mailed ballots becomes an opportunity for fraud. At a minimum, such a questionable ballot should be supported by ID. I encourage everyone to go through the Georgia law line by line and find a single provision that was written for the purpose of racial discrimination. I assure you, you will not. Attorney General Garland is just promoting a political ploy of the Democrat party to try and influence future elections in their favor. Disgusting, but a continuation of the politicization of the Justice Dept. that started under President Obama.

What was with President Biden whispering to reporters at a press conference? It was not only extremely creepy, what he said was nonsense. He stated in a response to a question of the difficulty of employers to find people to hire that “they should pay them more.”. Completely out of touch. Employers are paying far more than before the pandemic. Fast food restaurants are paying $15 and more per hour as are manufacturers and most other employers. The problem is a lack of supply of willing workers, which is made worse by the federal government paying a $300 per week premium to people on unemployment. As long as a person can simply state they are afraid to go back to work out of fear of covid, which is crazy with the wide availability of vaccines, and draw $50,000 or more simply staying at home, people will continue not to work. He either does not know what is going on in the economy or he is intentionally trying to destroy it. If he had any comprehension of the reality of economics he would not be proposing to spend another $6 trillion of borrowed money. We are already experiencing inflation rates not seen since the early 80’s and dumping more federal dollars into an already over heated economy will only spur this on. As an aside, who is hurt most by inflation? Liberal elites who dream up this nonsense? No, it is the poor. Inflation is the most regressive tax increase possible. While the elites are plugging in their $60,000+ Teslas, the poor are trying to figure out how they can put $3.15 per gallon gas into their $2000 gas guzzler. Biden and his co-conspirators in the effort to destroy the underpinnings of our economy say that we need all of this spending to create jobs. What the heck! In one creepy response he kind of acknowledges that there is not enough employees to go around. In fact, there are several more million jobs open right now then there are potential employees, those on unemployment benefits and others who have quit looking. Even if you believed the federal government could actually spend infrastructure dollars efficiently, which they have manifestly proven over decades they cannot, this is not the time to create more federal jobs and limit the pool of available workers to private employers. This is just another step in the effort of the federal government to take over the entire economy. I don’t know what you call that, but I call it socialism and it destroys every place it is ever tried. The “bipartisan” infrastructure bill is just as bad, loaded with pork for lobbyists and unneeded in this time of inflation and a tight labor market. Please write your senators and congressional representatives and tell them to stop. We have o be more involved if we want to save our nation.

What Kamala did not see.

Finally, let’s finish with one of my favorite dissemblers, VP Harris. She finally made it to the border, kind of, just before President Trump is going to visit. She went to El Paso, 800 miles from where the real crisis is occurring and visited a regular border crossing. She did not watch people crossing the Rio Grande, at great personal risk, and she certainly did not see the children in the filthy, covid ridden, shelters where innocent children are given unhealthy food and subject to sexual abuse. She and Biden have created a human crisis just to promote what they believe is in their party’s best political interest. They don’t care about the suffering of the illegal migrants they are encouraging to make this perilous journey, the safety of the residents along the border, the safety of the people in the cities to which they are sending these folks or to the livelihood of the people’s jobs they will eventually take. I wrote at length on this topic previously, but her charade of a visit requires criticism from all.

  1. Wonderful post, John! Capable people whom are living off the government are forgetting that eventually the liberal gravy train will stop. At some point, they’ll be forced to get a job. How will they explain during an interview why they have a three year gap of unemployment on their resume? That question will be the big elephant in the room. Bottom line, they took the path of least resistance and business owners/hiring managers will instinctively know that. Why would they hire someone who is content with being lazy? As Margaret Thatcher said ” The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”

    1. Thanks Colleen. I read today that still only 10% of the unemployed are actively and urgently seeking work. Fear of Covid and contentment with the unemployment benefit are the 2 big reasons, despite the wide availability of the vaccine. Content with being lazy. Great line.
