The “Big Lie”

The Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media have taken to calling questions about the integrity of the 2020 election the “Big Lie” and label people who question it to be unpatriotic and need to be silenced. A significant part of their campaign to silence the opposition is to call the largely peaceful protest on January 6 an “insurrection”. All the while the same people persist in saying that Putin stole the 2016 election for Donald Trump, despite the Mueller commission, after 2 1/2 years of partisan investigation concluded no such thing happened. Let’s examine all of this from a truthful perspective.

I don’t know if the 2020 election was intentionally stolen by the actions of election officials in a handful of Democratic cities that resulted in their states flipping from a Trump win to a Biden win by the narrowest of margins. While I don’t know if there was enough fraud to overturn the peoples’ electoral decision, there are certainly legitimate questions that remain unanswered. Wanting to know the answers to these questions should not be labelled as unpatriotic or illegal. If everything was fine with the election, what is the harm in getting the answers? Here’s what we know:

  1. Donald Trump is the first President in modern history, I went back to 1968, that increased his vote total from his first to his second elections and lost. In fact he increased his vote total by 11 million votes.
  2. Trump is the first person who won Ohio and Florida, both by comfortable margins, to lose the election.
  3. There have been 20 counties that voted for the winning candidate in every presidential election since 1980. Trump won 19 of those counties.
  4. The Republican party increased the number of seats in the House while the person at the top of the ticket lost. In the Senate the Republicans went from 52 down to 50 seats. However, two of their losses were made possible by the elections in two of the suspect cities, Phoenix and Atlanta.
  5. We know that the flip in election results occurred almost simultaneously, around 3:00 a.m., the morning after the election in the cities of Philadelphia, Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, Phoenix and Las Vegas. In all 6 cities they did not count the absentee and mail-in ballots until this time and there are questions in each about whether Republican poll watchers were permitted to view these counts. Famously a fake water main break occurred in Atlanta and everyone except 3 Democratic vote counters were evacuated out of the building. In other words, the critical absentee ballots were counted without Republican verification.
  6. Using Covid as an excuse, many states mailed out unrequested mail in ballots to every person listed in the voter registration records or poll books. These records are famously unreliable as they are seldom cleaned up. Having worked several elections I know with certainty that there are people who are dead on the records and people who have moved out of their precincts are still listed. So mail in ballots went to homes where the “registered” voter no longer lived. What happened to those ballots? Why could they not have been used by whoever lived at that address today or even sold? How about ballots mailed to people who are incapacitated either in their home or in a nursing facility? What happened to their ballots?
  7. In Atlanta there are sworn depositions that allege that there were thousands of ballots that were exact copies, right down to the appearance of the ballot mark. In short, it appears that ballots were copied on a copier. These ballots were all for Biden and were unfolded. How did a mail in ballot get to election headquarters without being folded and placed into an envelope?
  8. President Trump increased both the total number of Black and Hispanic voters he received as well as the percentage of those voters. How does a Republican incumbent increase his share of these votes and lose?

Again, none of this is proof of fraud, but these and other questions have never been answered. There is nothing unpatriotic about raising the questions and it should be understandable the almost 73 million people who voted for Trump remain angry that their questions remain unanswered and are being told to shut up.

Let’s briefly look at the real hoax, the supposed Russian stealing of the 2016 election. The FBI investigated this allegation by using a fake dossier prepared by a foreign intelligence official, Christopher Steele, to justify their FISA warrants. Prior to requesting these warrants Comey, Brennan and Clapper all knew it was fake. How? Because Bruce Ohr, the former assistant deputy attorney general, told them. How did he know” His wife Nellie worked for Steele at Fusion GPS as a Russian intelligence expert. Bruce Ohr told the FBI that the dossier on Trump was based upon “hearsay” information, actually drunken bar talk, that was paid for by the Hillary Clinton Campaign and the DNC. In other words, the only presidential candidate that used foreign intelligence information was Clinton, not Trump. Why was she not investigated and prosecuted either for this violation of election law or her destruction of subpoenaed emails? Is there any wonder why people yelled “Lock her up!” at Trump rallies? Despite this known fraud, Democrats still believe and contend that Clinton had the 2016 election stolen from her. 5 years later these questions linger, yet no one alleges that the people who continue to do so are unpatriotic and deserve to be silenced. Why? Because it is a free country and people have the right to question anything, except, apparently, Republicans.

Finally, let’s look at the “insurrection”. Merriman Webster dictionary defines insurrection as
an act or instance of revolting against civil authority or an established government. By this definition, the protest on January 6 was pretty lame. Who goes to a planned revolt without weapons. You can say what you want about Trump, but everyone has to admit he is a good businessman and planner. If he was planning a revolt, it would have been done a heck of a lot better than what happened at the Capitol on January 6. While a couple of Capitol Hill police officers died after the protest, none died as a result of an attack by anyone in the crowd. In fact the only person to die as a result of any person’s direct action was Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed 14 year veteran and mother. To this day we don’t know which police officer murdered this woman or why. Why don’t we? If Ashli Babbitt had been a young black man shot by a police officer you would know who that officer was immediately. Why is no one, even Republican elected officials, not demanding to know why this murder is not being prosecuted. The bottom line, this protest was not an insurrection nor was it planned, at least not well, and certainly not by Donald Trump. What happened that day was a collection of people that were upset about the election results and let their emotions run wild. They should not have broken into the Capitol, but the worst thing people were arrested for was trespassing. Curious how US citizens can be trespassing on the their own land, but those are the charges. Those arrested for this minor offense are still sitting in solitary confinement in a DC jail without bail. Why? These incarcerations seem unconstitutional and arbitrary. Far from being unpatriotic, every concerned citizen should be speaking up about this shameful act. I encourage everyone to write their representatives, as I have done, to demand answers on the murder of Ashli Babbitt and the continuing imprisonment of peaceful protestors.

Questioning the 2020 election is not a “Big Lie” rather it is a big question that remains unanswered.
